#travelwithgdp Fact: Swami Vivekananda swam to this rock and meditated, he attained enlightenment on the rock. Due to this, the rock has been regarded as a sacred place and many visits this place as a holy destination.
Description: To reach Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari, you will have to take the ferry from the mainland. As we had travelled during the offseason, we got tickets pretty quickly but the lady at the counter did tell that during peak months, the wait time can go up to 45-60 minutes. The ticket cost us only Rs. 50 to the rock and return. There are VIP tickets available for Rs. 200 just in case you do not want to wait for your tickets. You can stay on rock as long as you want but we did encounter the waiting lines to head back to the mainland. To go to Thiruvalluvar statue, you would have to catch the ferry from Vivekanand To itself.
