Dhanushkodi Town – Rameswaram

#travelwithgdp Fact: The story of Dhanushkodi dates back a long time when god walked along with the humans. Lord Ram had to rescue his wife from the evil forces of Ravana and hence had to cross the ocean. It is said that he built a bridge or crossway called Ram Sethu which literally means Rama’s bridge. After his victory over evil the new king of Lanka named Vibishana wanted to destroy the bridge. Accepting the request of the king Lord Ram broke it with one end of its bow. Hence the town got its name “Dhanush – Bow and Kodi meaning End”.
